BitPonder is an independent educational resource operated by a sole trader based in Malta. Contact: [email protected].
For GDPR purposes, the operator is the data controller for any personal data processed through this site.
BitPonder runs almost entirely in your browser. The wallet checker reads public blockchain state directly from public RPC nodes - your wallet address is never sent to our servers, and no balance data is stored anywhere we control.
The booking form (book.html) opens your own email client with a pre-filled message. We do not run a form-submission backend; your email address and booking details go directly through your email provider, not through any BitPonder server.
The following external services receive requests when you use the site. Each one may log your IP address under its own privacy policy.
| Service | Purpose | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| publicnode.com | Cosmos, Osmosis, Neutron, Celestia, Noble, Stride, dYdX, Akash, Kava, Stargaze, Juno RPC endpoints - fetches wallet balances | publicnode.com/privacy |
| CoinGecko API | Live ATOM/EUR price for the booking page | coingecko.com/en/privacy |
| api.qrserver.com | Generates the payment-address QR code image on the booking page | goqr.me/privacy |
| esm.sh | Serves the CosmJS library used by the Keplr payment flow | esm.sh |
| allorigins.win | CORS proxy used to fetch the crypto news RSS feeds | Open-source proxy - no stated privacy policy |
| TON Center / Toncoin API | Fetches TON wallet balance and jetton holdings | ton.org/privacy-policy |
| Sui RPC (fullnode.mainnet.sui.io) | Fetches Sui wallet coin balances | sui.io/privacy |
| Google Analytics (GA4, ID: G-Y3W70S88ED) | Site traffic analytics - only loaded after you click Accept in the cookie banner. If you click Reject, no GA request is ever made. | policies.google.com/privacy |
The site no longer contacts Google for fonts. All typefaces (Fraunces, Inter, IBM Plex Mono) are self-hosted on this domain.
We do not set any first-party cookies. We use localStorage (browser-side only) to remember your cookie consent choice (bp_cookie_consent). This value never leaves your device.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga, _ga_*) in your browser. You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics collects standard web metrics: pages visited, time on page, browser/device type, approximate country. IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage. We do not use GA for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Legal basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
When you submit a booking request, your email opens with a pre-filled message. The email is processed by your email provider and delivered to [email protected]. We retain that email for as long as necessary to fulfil and record the session, and no longer than three years for accounting purposes.
Payments are made directly on-chain (Cosmos Hub) via Keplr or manual transfer. We do not handle payment card data. Transaction hashes visible on public blockchains are permanent by the nature of blockchain technology - we cannot delete them.
Legal basis for processing booking emails: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
If you are in the European Economic Area (or UK), you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction or erasure; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time (which does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing).
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority - in Malta, this is the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC).
Booking emails are kept for up to three years. Consent preferences stored in localStorage persist until you clear your browser data or change your choice via the Cookie settings link. We do not maintain any other personal data store.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the last revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
